Objective: To investigate the effects of general anesthesia combined with epidural anesthesia on plasma levels of endothelin(ET), cardionatrin(ANP) and troponin I(CTN-I) in patients undergoing valve replacement under cardiopulmonary bypass(CPB).Methods: Twenty patients undergoing elective valve replacement were randomly divided into two groups. In control group (GA), isoflurane combined with fentanyl was used and patient controlled intravenous analgesia(PCIA) for postoperative pain management. In experimental group (GEA), isoflurane combined with epidural block and patient controlled epidural analgesia(PCEA) were used. The plasma levels of ET, ANP and CnT-I were observed before anesthesia and at 4, 24 hours, 72 hours after operation and on the 7th postoperative day. Results: The patients in both groups survived and without complication after discharge. At 4 hours after operation, the levels of ET and ANP in group GEA...
