Depression also called "melancholia",which is a psychosis and characterized by various manifestations of affective disorder in modern society, it has multi-negative influences to personal, family and society. The pathogenesis of depression hasn't been known clearly now .Treatment on depression that is based on the hypotheses has a variety of defects. Today the research is focused on the study of the new drugs that are effective and have fewer side effects. BCPT is a new type of bioactive compounds from paecilomyces tenuipes, we've found that it had inhibition effect on monoamine oxidase and antioxidation by experiment in vitro. In this reaserch we adopt multi-models to investigate its antidepressant effects and possible mechanisms . The main results are as follows:1 Acute toxicity of BCPTAfter the preliminary experiment ,we couldn't measure LD50 of BCPT, so we try to measure it's maximum tolerated dose (MTD) and the results is 9 g·kg-1 by ig. Compared with control the mouse after administration large dose of BCPT by ig appeared no abnormalities in the succedent 14d.2 Effect of BCPT on spontaneous activity in mouseSpontaneous movement test was used . The results showed that BCPT (25, 50, 100 mg·kg-1, ig, qd×7d )could not alter the number of spontaneous activities .3 Effect of BCPT on drugs induced models in mice 3.1 Reserpine reversal test...
