Background: obesity is closely related to type 2 diabetes. Both p-cell function of insulinsecretion ( Abbreviated as P-cell function) damaged and insulin resistance contribute to the development of type 2 diabetes, and P-cell dysfuction plays a key role to the occurrence and development of type 2 diabetes. Syndromes Differentiation is the marrow of TCM.Objective: To observe the Relationship Between Pancreatic p-cell Function and TCM Differentiation Syndromes in 136 cases of Obesity and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus , which provide index for treating Obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus .Materials and methods: According to WHO diagnosis criteria, 136 cases ,vere selected,and they were divided into 4 groups. Yin deficiency and heat excess synd ome (YDHES):22 cases(10 male, 12 female), the average age was 51.62 ±9.22 years old,and the process of disease was 2.82±1.61 years; Phlegm moisture hindering syndrome (PMHS):78 cases(37 male,41 female), the average age was 53.90 ± 6.80 years old,and the process of disease was 4 95 + 3.83 years; Qi and Yin deficiency with blood stasis syndrome (QYDBSS):29 cases(13 male, 16 female), the average age was 54.38+7.60 years old,and the process of disease was 8.12±4.07 years; Yin and Yang deficiency syndrome (YYDS):7 cases(3 male,4 female), the average age was 54.85±7.73 years old,and the process of disease was 10.63±3.68 years. Healthy people (14 male and 16 female) were taken as the control group, the average age was 50.25 ± 5.12 years old.
