Objective : To understand the current AIDS related knowledge level, the awareness of HIV occupational exposure and related behave among medical workers in Liao cheng city and to provide evidence for improving their relevant training. To investigate KABP to AIDS among female commercial sex workers in Liao cheng city and to provide evidence for putting into practice on high risk behavior intervention among them.Method : The survey used a multistage stratified random sampling method, the eight counties (cities and districts) were divided into three clusters according to the different per capita GDP, and a simple random sample of counties (cities and districts) was chosen from one clusters. Using similar methods, three township (subdistrict offices) were chosen from every county (district). A survey was conducted with an AIDS-related knowledge questionnaire among townships, village and county-level prevention clinical medical staff, medical personnel, health-care institutions in area counties. AIDS questionnaire was used for collecting data among detention female commercial sex workers, all survey data was put into Chinese version EpiData2.1b. The data were analysed using SPSS 11.5. Measurement data was analysed using Fangcha (F) analysis and two samples comparing were did using SNK. Count data test using x~2 analysis.Results: 1323 questionnaires form medical personnel in Liao Cheng city were collected back with effective answers, including 674 men and 649 women. The average rates of AIDS knowledge among medical personnel were 55.4%. The rates of essential knowledge about AIDS prevention were higher than the rates of professional knowledge about AIDS prevention. The difference among scores of them from different work unit, different education and different professional title were statistical significant (F=9.808,P<0.001; F=6.225, P<0.001; F=3.229, P<0.001).
