Objective:To compare the effects between vaginoplasty by sigmoid colon and by peritoneum in treating Mayer-Rokitansky-Ku|¨ster-Hauser Syndrome. Methods:Clinical data of 40 cases suffering from MRKH Syndrome were retrospectively analyzed. 20 patients were treated through vaginoplasty by sigmoid colon and others through vaginoplasty by peritoneum. The diagnosis of MRKH Syndrome was analyzed once more according to the symptoms, physical signs and auxiliary examinations. The effects of the two kinds of operative techniques were evaluated according to operating time, bleeding volume, complications in the operation and after the operation, and the mean in-hospital period after operation. The sexual function of one month after discharged was quantized according to FSFI by telephone interview to analyze the recovery of their sexual function after operation. Results:The 40 cases were diagnosed to MRHK Syndrome according to the diagnostic criteria. Among the cases who were analyzed by statistical methods, the mean operating time in Group A was 201.58±25.44 min and 175.83±31.21 min in Group B. There was significant difference between these two groups (P<0.05). The bleeding volume in operation in Group A was 252.63±90.48ml and 285.00±247.56ml in Group B. There was no significant difference between them (P>0.05). One case of complication in operation occurred in Group A (1/20, IN 5%) and no complication in Group B (0/20, IN 0). There was no significant difference between them (P>0.05). After operation, 2 cases suffered complications in Group A (2/20, IN 10%) and 6 cases in Group B (6/20, IN 30%). There was no significant difference between them (P>0.05). The mean in-hospital period after operation is 9.58±2.69d in Group A and 12.83±2.73d in Group B. The latter was longer...
