Tooth is a typical epithelium-mesenchyme organ, which is formed through the mutual function between the original oral epithelium and epiblastic mesenchyme from the neural crest below. From cells differentiation, formation of the structure to mineralization of the organ, many growth factors and transcription factors participate in this process. Core Binding Factor al(cbfa1) has been one of the poppest transcription factors in research recently. Cbfa1 play a very important role in osteogenesis; various studies in and abroad also point out that, cbfa1 is involved in tooth germ development, maybe in cells differentiation and hard tissues formation. Proteins related to bone morphogenesis include bone sialoprotein(BSP), osteopontin(OPN), osteocalcin(OC), osteonectin(ON) and bone morphogenesis proteins(BMPs) and so on. They are characteristics of osteocytoid, playing different roles in mineralation process. Recently their regulation functions in tooth development have been found out in many researches.
