| The rhizoma Polygonti (Huang-jing) is a common used herb in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). The rhizome of Polygonatum kingianum Coll. et. hemsl. (Liliaceae), one of three original plants known as Huang-jing in TCM, was recorded on the Chinese Pharmacopoeia (2005 Version). In order to elucidate its active components, eithteen compounds have been isolated from its fresh rhizomes and seventeen compounds, including ten new compounds, have been identified by 1D and 2D NMR (including 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, 1H-1H COSY, HSQC and HMBC) and mass spectrometry data.The structures of ten new compounds, which included nine steroidal saponins and one homoisoflavanone, were elucidated as 25 (R)-26-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl- furostane-5-en-3β, 22ξ, , 26-triol-12-one-3-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl (1→2)-β-D-glucopyranosyl (1→4)-β-D-galactopyranoside [kingianoside E, 1], 25 (S)-26-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-furostane-5-en-3β, 22ξ, 26-triol-12-one-3-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl (1→2)-β-D-glucopyranosyl (1→4)-β-D-gala-ctopyranoside [(25S)-kingianoside E, 2], (25S)-26-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-furostane-5-en-3β, 22ξ , 26-triol-12-one-3-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl (1→4)-β-D-galactopyranoside[(25S)-kingia-noside C, 4], (25S)-26-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-furostane-5-en-3β, 22ξ, 26-triol-12-one-3-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl(1→4)-β-D-fucopyranoside[(25S)- kingianoside D, 6], (25R)-26-O-β -D-glucopyranosyl-furostane-5-en-1β, 3β, 22ξ, 26-tetrol-12-one-3-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl (1→4)-β-D-galactopyranoside[(25R , 22)-hydroxylwattinoside C, 7], 25 (S)-26-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-furostane-5-en-1β, 3β, 22ξ , 26-tetrol-3-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl (1→2)-β-D-glucopyranosyl (1→4)-β-D-galactopyranoside [(25S)-kingianoside F, 9], 25 (R)-spirostan-5-en-3β, 23-dihydroxy-12-one-3-O-β-D- glucopyranosyl(1→2)-β-D-glucopy-ranosyl (1→4)-β-D-galactopyranoside [kingianoside G, 10], 25 (S)-spirostan-5-en-12-one-3-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl (1→2)-β-D-glucopyranosyl (1→4)-β-D-galactopyranoside [(25S)-pratioside D1, 11b], 25 (S)-spirostan-5-en-12-one-3-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl (1→4)-β-D-galactopyranoside [(25S)-kingianosid A, 12b] and 2', 4', 5, 7- tetrahydroxy-homciso-flavanone[13], respectively. |
