【Objective】To investigate the expression patterns of hMSH2 in human bladder transitional cell carcinoma and assess the correlation of hMSH2 protein to various clinical and pathologic features, prognosis of the patients.【Methods】We examined the expression patterns of hMSH2 and Ki-67 protein in 101 patients with transitional cell carcinoma(TCC) of the urinary bladder by immunohistochemical technique, futhermore,we deteceted apoptosis of carcinoma cells by in situ end labeling techinque (TUNEL).【Results】1.Control sections of normal colon and urothelium are demostrated uniform expressin of hMSH2,which was exclusively restricted to the crypt nuclei.Reduced expression was associated with the least differentiated and the most advamced cancer(p<0.05),but no significant correlationship was observed between hMSH2 expression and patients sex and lymphatic invasion(p=0.317>0.05).Statistical analysis using chi-square showed the expression level of hMSH2 was significant higher for pT2-4 tumor(46.8%) than pTis-1(23.2%)( p=0.016<0.05).The difference of expression level of hMSH2 among G1,G2 and G3 of TCC possessed statistics significance, and a difference of statistical significance (p<0.05) also found between G1+G2 and G3 groups of TCC.While we didn't find any relationship between hMSH2 expression and lymphatic invasion (p<0.05).2.The Ki-67 antigen was exclusively detected in the nucleus. Ki-67 labeling index of non-Bladder cancer urothelium was 12.19±2.64,which was 26.55±9.65 in TCC,and there was a difference of statistical significance between them. The labeling index of Ki-67 was related to...
