| Objective:To explore the relationship between the expression of ICAM -1 in renal allograft and acute rejection, to analyze the significan(?) e of ICAM-1 in the diagnosis and treatment of the patients with acute renal allograft rejection. Methods: IHC: 72 allograft biopsies obtained from 72 kidney transplant s were examined by immunohistochemistry on routine paraffin sections, 5 4 with AR, 18 with CsA toxicity. 8 normal renal spicemens as controls. We analyzed the relationship of ICAM-1 and histomorphologic featuies. Results: 1, ICAM-1 in AR groups are all positive on renal tubules. C sA toxicity and controls groups are mainly weak positive. When compar ed with AR, CsA toxicity and controls groups, displayed a significance increase in ICAM-1 expression. However, no difference was found betwee n CsA toxicity and controls groups.2, Evaluated ICAM-1 expression among three groups. We found more grade of acute rejection, more ICAM-1 on renal tubular epithelial cell, We found a significant differences among three groups. 3, the level of serum creatinine is develop with more expression of 1 CAM-1, and the patients become resistant to antirejection therapy. Conclusions: 1, The expression of ICAM-1 in renal tubules increased when AR happened.More grade of rejection , more positive area of ICAM -1 in renal allograft, indicated ICAM-1 is participated in renal tran splantation rejection and influences rejection grade. 2, Our data indicate that the high expression of ICAM-1 is associate d with inferior renal graft outcome, and is resistant to antirejectio n therapy with steroids and/or ATG. |
