| Objective: To compare the results of treating peripheral facial palsy with three treatments. These three treatments include the treatment of acupuncture combining with acupoint-injection of cobamamide for injection and the treatment of acupuncture combining with intramuscular injection of cobamamide for injection and the treatment of single acupuncture. Moreover to expound the mechanism on the acupuncture combining with acupoint-injection of cobamamide for injection for peripheral facial palsy. Methods: 93 cases of peripheral facial palsy were selected with certain diagnostic standard. These patients were divided into three groups by lot: the group of 32 cases treated with acupuncture combining with acupoint-injection of cobamamide for injection (curing group), the group of 30 cases treated with acupuncture combining with intramuscular injection of cobamamide for injection (comparing group I) and the group of 31 cases treated with single orbicularis oris (comparing group II). Tow periods of treatment were given to each group. Before and after the treatment we evaluated respectively the clinic symptoms of three groups, then detected the items of electrophysiology: electroneurography (ENoG) and blink reflex (BR).Results: After the treatment, there was significant difference between curing group and two other groups in availability, the clinic symptom scores and the indexes of electrophysiology (p<0.05 or p<0.01), there was significant difference between comparing group I and comparing group II in the clinic symptom scores, onset latency and ratio of compound action muscle potential between affected and good side of ENoG (orbicularis oris) and BR (p<0.05).Conclusion: In the three kinds of therapy, the treatment of acupuncture combining with acupoint-injection is the most effective, the treatment of acupuncture combing with... |
