Purpose:The relation between GJIC(Gap junction intercellular communication) and cataract is a new hot point in cataract research which rises in recent years and is in the initial stage. Lens is a transparent tissue which blood can't directly serve. And in special mechanism it carries through material metabolism to keep transparency. Lens epithelia cell plays an important role in keeping transparency. The transportation of nutriment, exertion of metabolized production, regulation of the permeability balance between various kinds of composition of lens between lens epithelia cells and lens fiber cells is carried on through GJ. Epidemiology proved that long-term UVA radiation was one of the main causes of age-related cataract. However, the changes and mechanism in lens epithelia cell GJIC by UVA irradiation still see no reports at home and abroad. So the purpose of the experiment is to probe the changes and mechanism in gap junctional intercellular communication of rabbit lens epithelia cells irradiated by UVA. We hope we can advance some new theory about the mechanism by which UVA...
