| Objective: To study Rheumatoid Arthritis(RA),an animal model of collagen II-induced arthritis (CIA) was perfomed, which is similar in many aspects during the development of RA on human. Methods: CIA was induced by the immunization of Wistar rats with bovine type II collagen in complete Freund's adjuvant. Disease progression was studied by clinical scoring of arthritis, histological examination of joints and immunohistochemistry ahout Interleukin(IL)-l and tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-α,and roentgenograph in hindlimb.Result: Comparison of normal rat all the rat immunized with bovine type II collagen have limb swelling, synovial membrane prolifeation , intense inflammatory cell infiltration , pannus formation which producing cartilage and bone erosion , the expression of TNF-α and (IL)-1 usingimmunohistochemistry in synovium tisse, and soft-tissue swelling, articular bone erosions in the tarsal, metatarsal, and interphalangeal regions mirrored from roentgenographs. |
