| Backgroud and Objectives:Ulcerative Colitis (UC) which is a chronic, idiopathicinflammatory disorder of the rectum and colon is characterized by relapsing course. It is essential for the clinical management and therapeutic assessment to determine disease activity. Although there are varieties of indicators of disease activity for UC, their sensitivities and specificities are not satisfactory. Therefore, a indicator of disease activity with high sensitivity and specificity is required in clinical.
