| [Objective] To examine the expression of gastrin-releasing peptide(GRP) and Ki-67 antigen in gastric carcinoma, and to analyze the relationship between them and clinical and pathological characters of gastric carcinoma. The correlation of GRP and Ki-67 antigen was also investigated. To explore if GRP participate in the generation, development and metastasis of lymph node of gastric carcinoma,.in order to provide theoretic basis for treating effectively the patients with gastric cancer, and selecting a useful mark for patients' prognosis.[Methods] Eighty-eight paraffin wax blocks of gastric carcinoma in the period from 2001 to 2005 were collected from the department of pathology in the Jiangxi Province People's Hospital. These were divided into experiment group including 15 papillary adenocarcinoma, 37 tubular adenocarcinoma, 17 mucous adenocarcinoma, 19 ring cell carcinoma. 16 cases of chronic superficial gastritis divided into the control group were collected from the samples of duodenum ulcer or gastric ulcer. All of them were made into a tissue microarray. The tissue microarray was made as follows: Firstly, one empty paraffin wax block named receptor wax block with 8 × 13 hole was designed and made by the special hollow needle, the diameter of each hole is the same size. Secondly, the proper part of the tissue sections was located and marked under the microscopy. With the help of the marks in the sections, tissue bars were drawn out from the wax blocks named supplying blocks, then transferred to the receptor wax block. Finally, the receptor wax block filled with the tissue bars was resolved properly and pressed slightly in order to become smooth. The microarray was produced perfectly. Then, several sections were cut from the microarray and mounted on the slides which were... |
