Objective: To explore the relationship between angiotensin-converting enzyme(ACE) and angiotensinogen(AGT) gene polymorphism and coronary artery disease .Methods:270 patients (168males,102females,64.06±10.05years old) underwent coronary angiography(CAG) to determine the number of affpcted coronary vessels(≥70% stenosis) and coronary score[the six segments counted in the jeopardy score are left anterior descending artery (LAD); diagonal branch of the left anterior descending artery (LAD DIAG);major septal perforating artery(SEPT);major marginal branch of the left circumflex coronary artery (CFX-MARG); left circumflex coronary artery (CFX); posterior descending coronary artery(PDA)each segment is given a score of 2 point s]. Arteriographic findings were evaluluated by more than three arteriographic experts. All patients were divided into control group(109 normal CAG) and CAD group (161 at least one vessel≥70% stenosis) .Citrated vein blood samples were taken from all individuals and DNA was extracted by phenol /chloroform/absolute alcohol method .blood pressure(BP),blood fasting sugar(BFS),gender, body mass index(BMI),total cholesterol(TC) triglyceride (TG),high density lipoprotein(HDL),low density lipoprotein(LDL) were recorded, essential hypertension(EH),diabetes mellitus(DM),smoking history . The polymorphysim of ACE I/D and AGTM235T were examined by the means of polymerase chain reaction (PCR)and electrop- horesised in agarosse gel.
