On Health Technology Progress And Health Expenditure Increase In China

A continual progress in health technology helps to improve the health of our country, but it is also a main factor of which leads to increase in health expenditure. With more and more people can't afford medical treatment, it has become very important to how to develop, distribute and utilize these health technologies and to resolve the contradiction between progress of health technology and health expenditure. A main problem will be discovered in the development of medical treatment in our homeland on the basis of an analysis between the progress of health technology and the increase in health expenditure from the point of view of a progress of medical technology, i.e. the failure of health market and limitation of current policy leads to lose control of the utilize of health technology in many places, such as introduction, distribution and application of health technology. These problems are presented as an abnormal increase of health expenditure at last. Furthermore,according to the relation of health technology and health expenditure, this paper constructs a health expenditure model of town and a health expenditure model of country respectively, and predicts the future health expenditure. In order to slower health expenditure, we analyze an adjustment of relevant policies to application to changing health technology. The analysis in this paper will provide theoretical bases and advices to develop, configure and use resources of health technology, and to assure the accordance of increase in health expenditure and national income. In the end, we introduce the methods of health technology assessment and describe the status quo of China's health technology assessment.
