PremiseLiquefied petroleum gas is derived from oil gas, natural gas, the gas production ofrefinery and petrochemicals. The main components are dimethylmethane, propylene, butane, butylene and such low class hydrocarbon. It's a gas with achromaticity and transparence; LPG is hardly dissolved in water, but dissolved in ethanol and aether, it can dissolve gas production, propagation oil and caoutchouc.LPG can produce carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxide compound, aldehyde Aldehyde class compound, and reduce the oxygen concentration in the air when burn in less air environment, which will cause carbon monoxide poisoning and the stimulation by nitrogen oxides compound, aldehyde class compound, and the acute poisoning symptom.According to 《Industrial enterprise Designs Hygienic Standard》 , the allowed concentration (PC-STEL) of baleful factors to the workers in short time period in LPG environment is 1000mg/m3, the average (PC-TWA) is 1500 mg/m3. However, the researches on acute virulence are much more than the researches on deferred damage, especially on nervous function and nervous behavioral function researches. The research selects the lighter manufacture workers to be the research target, do the test on leukocyte phagocytic function, autonomic nervous function and nervous behavioral function within each group, respectively, and to testify if there will be changes in phagocytic function, autonomic nervous function and nervous behavioral function ofworkers who contact low concentration of LPG in long term. Objective Employ the lighter industry workers who contact with liquefied petroleum gas toinvestigate the impact on leukocyte phagocytic function, autonomic nervous function and nervous behavioral function, if contacting with low dosage in long term, and to provide the basis to the enactment of national sanitary standard in the future.Methods1. Select the lighter manufacture workers to be the research target, and divide them to high concentration contact group, low concentration contact group and contrast group based on the type of work ( puff, adjust and assemble). Choose a group of workers from same factory but without contacting of LPG as comparison group.2. Immunologic function research: To abstract finger blood of workers by 40μl, and make it as blood slice. Observes after the dyeing under the oil mirror, stochastically countsin 100 polymorphonuclears white blood cells to swallow has the bacterium the cell number (phagocytic percentage); Again counts the bacterium total which in this 100 polymorphonuclears white blood cells wallows, eliminates by 100, obtains each cell to swallow the bacterium the mean value (phagocytic index).3. Autonomic nerve function research: The heart function of the worker was determined by electrocardiograph. The indexes of heart frequency, value of 30/15, vertical and horizontal differences, the index of Valaslva Manoeuvre, discrepancy on the respiration discrepancy were calculated.4. Nervous behavioral function research: according to the demand of NCTB which recommendation by WHO, do the simple visual reaction time test on blood leukocyte phagocytic function, autonomic nervous function and nervous behavioral function within each group, respectively, and do the analysis through the SPSS statistic analysis software.5. The test on LPG concentration and noise intensity in workshop.Compare the results from three groups and do the analysis through the SPSS statistic analysis software, as well as the analyze on LPG concentration and noise intensity in workshop.ResultsWhen neither the LPG concentration of manufacture environment nor the noise intensity oversteps the restriction of professional contacting with deleterious element in workplace:1 The leukocyte phagocytic function of the contact groups are weaker than the one of the contrast group. The phagocytic activity of the low concentration group is the lowest one. The phagocytic index of the high concentration group is the highest one.2.The autonomic nervous function of the contact groups are weaker than the one of the contrast group. The vertical and horizontal differences of the contact groups are lower than the one of the contrast group. There is a decreasing trend on the vertical and horizontal differences as the concentration being contacted is increasing. The value of 30/15 of the contact groups are lower than the one of the contrast group. However, there is no significant discrepancy on the respiration discrepancy, the index of Valaslva Manoeuvre and the cardiac rate of these three groups.3. The scores of memory scanning, cursor tracing and pursuit aiming tests of the contact groups are all below the ones of the contrast group, which demonstrates significant discrepancies. In addition, there is discrepancy on the scores of simple visual reaction time test and Benton visual retention test between the contact groups and the contrast group, but it is not significant.ConclusionTo some extent, contacting with low concentration (within the restriction of national standard) liquefied petroleum gas in long term does injure the leukocyte phagocytic function, autonomic nervous function and nervous behavioral function of the operating workers.
