| Objiective:The morbidity and mortality of acute coronary syndromes (ACS) has increased rapidly during the recent years . Now, it is generally believed that the rupter of vulnerable plaques and secondary thrombosis are the main pathological basic of ACS . Therefore , the diagnosis of vulnerable plaques is extremely important. The aim of this research is to evaluate pregnancy associated plasma-A (PAPP-A) as an early sensitive and specific marker indicating the instability of atherosclerotic plaques in patients with ACS.Method: Research objects were divided into four groups: 20 patients in the control group with negative result in coronary angiography(CAG);20 patients in AMI group; 24 patients in UAP group ; 22 patients in SAP group . Concentrations of PAPP-A were measured by enzyme linked immunosorbent assays(ELISA). Concentrations of CRP were measured by rate nephelometry (RN). Concentrations of cTn I were measured by microparticle enzyme immunoassay (MEIA). Narrow severity of coronary artery was evaluated by coronary angiography and recorded in Jekins score. Results:â‘ The level of PAPP-A in ACS patients (including AMI patients and UAP patients) was significantly higher than that in SAP patients and controls(P<0.01).(2) The level of cTn I in AMI patients was significantly higher than that in UAP patients, SAP patients and controls(P<0.01). The variations among UAP patients, SAP patients ,controls were not significant.(3) The variations of Jenkins sores among AMI patients, UAP patients , SAP patients were not significant. (4) There were significant associations between PAPP-A and CRP (r=0.786, p< 0.01)in ACS patients .The associations among PAPP-A, cTn I, Jenkins sores were nosignificance. Conclusion: PAPP-A is associated with inflammatory response in atherosclerosis plaque. The increase of level of PAPP-A in coronary atherosclerotic heart disease (CAD) patients reflects the unstability of plaque.PAPP-A can be used as an marker indiagnosis of ACS. |
