Objective To approach the manifestation and clinical significance of urodynamic examination in neurogenic bladder caused by intervertebral disk displacement. Methods 30 patients of neurogenic bladder caused by intervertebral disk displacement are divided into three groups-detrusor hyperreflexia without dyssynergia, hyperreflexia with dyssynergia and detrusor areflexia, three groups- urinary retention, urinary incontinence and the other, three groups- cervical hernia, thoracic hernia and lumbar hernia. All patients had undertaken computer tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and urodynamic examination, and the results are analyzed statistically. Results The category of detrusor muscle reflex has a statistical effect on BC(P<0.05) and P(det, Qmax) (P<0.01), and there are significant differences in PVR, MMC and Qmax between groups of urinary retention, urinary incontinence and the other (P<0.05). There are statistical correlations between location of intervertebral disk displacement and the urodynamic change. And there are statistical correlations between bladder compliance (BC, the threshold is 15ml/cmH2O), detrusor pressure (DP, the threshold is 40cmH2O), location of intervertebral disk displacement and the damage of upper urinary tract(P<0.01).Conclusions Urodynamic examination is significantly necessary in the classification, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of neurogenic bladder caused by intervertebral disk displacement.
