Objective: To observe the changes of plasma atrial natriuretic peptide(ANP), brain natriuretic peptide(BNP)and myocardial performance index (Tei index) in patients with patent ductus arteriosus(PDA) treated by transcatherter closure, and identify its associated factors.Method: 16 patients with PDA underwent transcatheter closure using occluder,The plasma concentration of ANP and BNP were measured before and after closure at 10 minutes,2 days and 3 month. The Tei index of left and right ventricular, left ventricular (LV) end diastolic dimension (LVEDD),LV ejection fraction (LVEF) etc were measured with echocardiograph before and after transcatheter closure at 2 days and 3 month respectively .Results:. The transcatheter closure success rate of PDA was 100% in our hospital. Echocardiography showed that the trace shunt had complete disappeared after transcatherter closure with occluder. The plasma concentration of ANP and BNP of all the cases before the transcatheter closure were significant higher than the normal (P<0.01).After the transcatheter closure 10 mintes and 2 days, the patients' ANP,BNP got even more higher than before transcatheter closure and the normal (P<0. 01). Tei index of LV before the transcatheter closure were significant higher than the normal (P<0.01). After the transcatheter closure 2 days,Tei index of LV got even more higher than before transcatheter closure. Meanwhile their LVEDD, LVEF decreased significantly After the transcatheter closure 2 days (p<0.01). The change of Tei index after closure of PDA correlated well with ANP,BNP ,LVEF and LVEDD. There were a positive correlation between the changes of the plasma concentration of ANP/BNP and the change of Tei index of LV at 2 days . The change of Tei index of LV...
