| The purpose of this paper is to develop a new electroactive polymer with different kind partial sulfonated polystyrene(SPS) positive ion resin which using N-methyl-pyrrolidone (NMP) as the solvent, with initiated by benzoyl peroxide (BPO). Firstly, partial sulfonated polystyrene were prepared by solution polymerization with the raw materials of styrene(St), sodium styrene sulfonate(NaSS) and divinyl benzene(DVB); Secondly, the SPS/OMMT nanocomposites were prepared by intercalation polymerization with the monmers and organically modified montmorillonite (OMMT). The materials were verified by the conductivity testing, the elemental analysis, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) , X-ray diffraction spectrum, transmission electron microscopy (TEM) . The results indicated that the conductivity of partial sulfonated polystyrene equaled to 0.32×10-2S/cm with a concentration of sulfonated styrene groups of 7.81 mol% and not remarkably increased with the sulfonated styrene concentration; The precious sonication of reactants could improve the effects of nano-intercalation and the glass transition disappeared under the intercalation. In addition, the poly(MMA-St-NaSS)/PU composites were prepared and the properties the composites such as mechanical and thermal character, water absorption, were also determined. The results indicated when the copplymers formed with 80% methyl methacrylate (MMA), 10% styrene (St), 10% sodium styrene sulfonate (NaSS) were mixed with polyurethane (PU) in the ratio of 100:10, the composites its the elongation rate at break reached 208.69% and had the better property of water absorption. All the research results showed that a new electroactive polymer would be developed by adjusting the composition of the poly(MMA-St-NaSS)/PU composites. |
