Objective: To study the effects of high- cholesterol diet on levels of plasma lipids and the expression of SR-BI and LDLR in the livers of the rabbits. To observe the effects of drugs on the levels of plasma lipids and the expression of SR-BI and LDLR in the livers. To supply the experimental evidence for the prevention of atherosclerosis complications , such as acute coronary syndrome, and guide clinical drug administration. Methods: 50 rabbits were divided into 5 groups (each group, n=10), control group, model group, simvastatin group, irbesartan group and probucol group. The rabbits of the latter four groups were fed with 1% cholesterol diet and the control group was fed with normal diet for 12 weeks. Then all the rabbits were fed with normal diet for 12 weeks, and respectively administrated with simvastatin (2mg/kg·d), irbesartan (75mg/ k·gd) , probucol (50mg/ kg·d) . The levels of plasma lipids were obtained at the beginning, the 12th week, the 24th week. The expression of SR-BI and LDLR in the livers was observed by immunohistochemistry technique. The data were analysed with SPSS software: applied with ANOVA, the curative effect of drugs applied with paired T-test.Results: The levels of plasma lipids of the model group were higher significantly than that of the control group (P<0.01). Simvastatin lowered the levels of plasma TC, TG, LDL and increased the level of plasma HDL significantly (P<0.01). There were no significant effects on the levels of plasma lipids in irbesartan group(P>0.05). Probucol lowered the levels of plasma TC, HDL, LDL significantly(P<0.01), and lowered the level of plasma TG slightly. The expression of SR-BI in the model group was much higher than that of the control group (P<0.01). The expression of SR-BI in simvastatin, irbesartan was a little higher than that of the model group .There were no significant different between the model group and the probucol group . The expression of LDLR in the model group were much lower than that of the control group (P<0.01). The expression of LDLR in simvastatin group were much higher than that of the model group. There were no significant different among the irbesartan group, probucol group and the model group . Conclusion:1.The levels of plasma lipids and the expression of SR-BI in the livers were significantly higher in the rabbits fed with high-cholesterol diet, and the expression of LDLR in the liver 所 were lower.2.Simvastatin significantly reduced the levels of plasma TC, TG, LDL;and increased the level of plasma HDL , increased the expression of SR-BI, LDLR in the livers.3. Irbesartan had no influence on the levels of plasma lipids, but it increased the expression of SR-BI in the livers.4. Probucol reduced the levels of plasma TC, HDL, LDL significantly , reduced the levels of plasma TG slightly,it had no influence on the expression of SR-BI, LDLR in the livers.
