| ã€Objective】To study the protection of phycocyanin to the neuron and the effects ofit on the expression of IGF and IGFR after focal cerebral ischemia/reperfusion in rats.ã€Methods】A rat middle cerebral artery occlusion/reperfusion (MCAO) model wasproduced using the intraluminal filament method. We blindly randomized 40 male into5groups which were categorized as follows: sham-operated group(n=4); model controlgroup (n=24); and phycocyanin group (n=24). After MCAO, the neurobehavioral testingof all rats was made.We set up 7 observation phases (6h,1d,3d,7d and14d) afterocclusion/reperfusion in the last groups, each phase had 4 rats.To observe the dynamicvariation of IGF and IGFR after focal cerebral ischemia reperfusion and the interventionof phycocyanin by immunohistochemical staining.ã€Results】In the sham operation group, there is only a few positive cells were seen inthe hemicerebrum. In the model control group, the upregulation of IGF began 6h afterischemia, reached a maximum at 24h, then subsided gradually after 2d, but still in highlevel in 14d. After focal cerebral ischemia/reperfusion in rats, phycocyanin can improvethe deficits of the cerebral. The time-phase pattern of phycocyanin group is similar to thepattern of the model control group, but the number of the positive cells were significantlyhigh than the number of the model control group.ã€Conclusions】The over-expression of IGF was seen in the focal ischemic brain, andplay a positive correlation in degree of injury. Phycocyanin can clear up free radical inthe cerebral cortex, and might play an important role in the protection of ischemicneurons. |
