| Objective TO investigate the expression of SDF-1 in neovascularization membranes of eyes with Proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR) and the concentration of SDF-1 in vitreous . Investigate the result and study influence of SDF-1 in neovascularization in diabetic retinopathy. Methods Twelve human neovascularization membranes were obtained from eyes undergone vitrectomy for PDR and observed by immunohistochemical examination to study the expression of SDF-1.The sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used to measure the level of SDF-1 in vitreous of PDR group for20 eyes ,PDR with neovascularization of iris group for 10 eyes ,simple PVR group for 20 eyes ,normal group for 10 eyes. Results IN 12 neovascularization membranes, SDF-1 were expressed in 10/12.The mean value of SDF-1 level in vitreous of the former groups was :(351.31±120.30) pg/ml in PDR group; (1161.49±103.43) pg/ml in PDR with neovascularization of iris group;(72.59±8.78) pg/ml in simple PVR group;(<62.5) pg/ml in normal group.Stastistics showed that SDF-1 level in PDR group contrast with other groups is significantly (t=-18.17,10.31,p<0.001) .Conclutions Our results indicate the SDF-1 may play a important role in retinal neovasularization in PDR and the vitreous of SDF-1 concentration correlate with the DR disease severity. |
