Objective: To investigate the effects of Ambroxol HydrochlorideInjection (AHI) and Ulinastatin (UTI) in neonatal rats with hyperoxiainduced lung injury. Methods: A total 120 term neonatal Wistar rats were randomly dividedin to air, model, AHI and UTI treated groups (every group n=30).The airgroup was exposed to room air, and other tree groups were exposed 90% O2for 14 days. The treatment groups received AHI(50mg/kg) and UTI (40000u/kg) by peritoneal injection after exposed 90% O2 2 days, the air andmodel groups received normal saline by peritoneal injection. At each timeinterval of 3, 7 and 14 days after experiment, ten rats of each group weresacrificed. The levels of MDA were determined from bronchoalveolar lavagefluid (BALF), pathological changes of lung were observed under a lightmicroscope. The expression of CTGF and TNF-αwere detected byimmunochemistry and the number of Clara Cells was calculatedResults: The level of MDA from BALF was significantly decreased, theexpression strength of CTGF and TNF-αwas significantly lower and theamount of Clara Cells was significantly higher in the treatment groupsthan that the model group;there were all significant difference betweenthe treatment groups and model group(All P<0.01), but there was nosignificant difference between AHI and UTI (P>0.05). Conclusion: The AHI and UTI had protective effect in neonatal ratswith hyperoxia-induced lung injury. This may contribute to one of possiblemechanism that inhibit to release the oxygen free radical and cytokines.
