Objective: Using intravascular ultrasound evaluates endomembraneproliferation of patients of planting Firebird drug-eluting stent, and To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Firebird drug-eluting stent (DES) in the treatment of de novo native coronary artery lesions. Methods: 86 patients (106 Volunteers)who attained well clinical-followingdatas and developed coronary angiography and intravascular ultrasound after undergoing coronary artery stenting in 13.07±2.98 months during June 2004 to June 2006,20 patients with Firebird group, 24 patients with Cypher group and other 42 patents with metal bare stents group (BMS group, including BX stent,AMG stent). To Observate the information of successful operation rates, operation complication and MACE (including AMI,cardiac death, target vessel revascularization) and develop coronary angiography and intravascular ultrasound(IVUS) after undergoing coronary artery stenting in 13.07±12.98 months. New endomembrane proliferation and the instant and short term follow-up outcomes were compared among the three groups. Results: Procedural successful operation rates is 95% in Firebird group. 2 patients took place subacute thrombosis in Firebird group;2 patients took place subacute thrombosis and 2 patients took place revascularization successfully.in Cypher group;1 patients took place subacute thrombosis and 15 patients took place revascularization successfully in BMS group. New endomembrane area,Final minimum stent luman area, restenosis rate by IVUS massured in 13. 07±2.98 months following-up. New endomembrane area, Firebird group 1.27±0.93 (mm~2) vs. Cypher group 1.47 + 0.89 (mm~2) vs. BMS group 5. 78 + 4. 79 (mm~2); Final minimum stent luman area, Firebird group 6.13±2. 05 (mm~2) vs. Cypher group 5. 30 + 1. 65(mm~2) vs. BMS group 4. 33 + 1. 59 (mm~2) ;in—stent area stenosis rate , Firebird group 17±12 (%) vs. Cypher group 22±9 (%) vs. BMS group 47±31 (%) , there were significant differences between DES group (includingFirebird group and Cypher group ) and BMS goup in these parameters (p<0.05 to p<0. 001), but there were no differences between Firebird group and Cypher group (p>0. 05).Conclusions : new endomembrane only slightly proliferate in the Firebirdgroup in 13.07±2.98 months following-up, and no patient takes place restenosis. So, Firebird DES is safe and effective in treatmenting de novo native coronary artery lesions with similar outcomes of the Cypher DES, and no restenosis comparing with BMS group.
