To explore the relationship between expression ofPTEN/VEGF and metastasis, the relationship and significance between the expression ofPTEN/VEGF and in human ovarian cancer. Method: 87 cases of the epithelial ovariancancer and 42 cases of benign epithelial tumor of ovary were detected on Tissue Microarries.PTEN,VEGF and were visualized by immunohistochemistrical SP. Microvasculardensity was counted. The results were tested by statistics methods which were chi-squretest, t-test, Spearman' rank correlation and analysis of variance. Results:①The ratio ofhypo-expression of PTEN in humanhe epithelial ovarian cancer is 66.7% while that ofthe tissues of benign epithelial tumor of ovary is 26.2%. The distinction between the twosites is significant (P<0.01); as well as between the group of G1 and (G2+G3). Therewas statistical significance between the group Gland G2 (P<0.05). The group of G2 andG3 had no difference (P>0.05). Its correlation with clinical pathological parameters was analyzed(P<0.05).②The significant difference of the hyper-expression of VEGF existed betweenthe ovary cancer and the tissues of benign epithelial tumor of ovary is significant(P<0.01).And the hyper-expression of VEGF between lymph node metastasis group andnon-lymph-node-metastasis group was highly different (P<0.01). Its correlation with clinicalpathological parameters was also analyzed (P<0.05).③MVD of the different group on the sizeof tumor had significant difference (P<0.01). Its correlation with clinical pathologicalparameters was analyzed too (P<0.05). There was no relationship between PTEN,VEGF andMVD expression and pathological type. Expression of PTEN was negatively correlated withexpression of MVD while expression of VEGF was positive correlated with expression of MVD.④The expression of VEGF decreased with increased expression of PTEN. The level ofPTEN expression was passively related with the level of VEGF expression. Conclusion:①The lower expression of PTEN is closely related with epithelial ovarian cancerdevelopment, pathological characters and biological behaviors. This gene plays a role ininhibiting proliferation of tumor cells inducing tumor cells differentiation passivelyregulating cells growing and metastasis.②VEGF is probably one of the importmentfactors which can affect angiogenesis.③The expression PTEN and VEGF was inconnection with clinical stage and histological grade(P<0.05). They may play animportant role in the development of ovarian tumors. The ovarian tumors with PTENlower expression and those with VEGF higher expression may have worse prognosis. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | ovary cancer, PTEN, VEGF, angiogenesis, Tissue Microarry | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
