| Objective: To investigate the advantages of multi-tumor markerprotein chip assistance diagnostic system for screening over 5 kinds ofcancers and its specificity and sensitivity in detection of non-cancersubjects and healthy persons. Methods: The serum levels of 12 common tumor markers, including CA199, NSE, CEA, CA242, CA125, CA153, AFP, Ferritin,Free-PSA, PSA,β-HCG and HGH were measured with the detectivesystem in 500 malignant tumor patients, 150 patients with benigndisease and 1600 healthy examinations. Results: The positve rates were (83.5%) in malignant tumor,(48%)benign disease and (7.5%)healthy groups, respectively. Themalignant tumor group had significantly higher positve rate than that ofthe controls. The sensitivity of the multi-tumor marker protein chipassistance diagnostic system was higher in detection of the 12 tumormarkers than that in detection of a single tumor marker and itsspecificity in detection of healthy persons was 95% and thetumor-detecting rate in the health was 0.2%.Conclusion: Combined measurement of multiple serum tumormarkers using protein biochip technique can significantly increase thediagnostic sensitivity for malignant tumor, and can also be used as anearlier tumor-screening tool to asymptomatic people, especially to thehigh risk people. |
