Objective: To observe the relationship between the genotype and allelefrequency of C825T in the G-protein beta 3 subunit gene in mothers and fetalsand pre-eclampsia.Methods: We collected 199 pregnant women with pre-eclampsia and 281healthy pregnant women as contrast and analysed the relationship between thepolymorphism of C825T in the G-protein beta 3 subunit gene (GNB3) inpregnant women and fetals and pre-eclampsia using the technique ofpolymerase chain reaction and restriction fragment length polymorphism. Results: No significant differences in allele and genotype frequencies ofC825T in the G-proteinβ3 subunit gene were found between patients withpre-eclampsia and the normal control subjects. Allele T frequencies were46.73%,48.93% respectively; There were significant difference in allelefrequency of C825T in the G-proteinβ3 subunit gene were found betweenpatients with mild pre-eclampsia and the normal control subjects,Allele T frequencies were 39.40%,48.93% respectively, P<0.05; and no significantdifference in genotype frequency of C825T in the G-proteinβ3 subunit genewere found between them; No significant differences in allele and genotypefrequencies of C825T in the G-proteinβ3 subunit gene were found betweenpatients with severe pre-eclampsia and the normal control subjects. Allele Tfrequencies were 50.38% and 48.93% respectively; There were significantdifferences in allele and genotype frequencies of C825T in the G-proteinβ3subunit gene were found between patients with mild pre-elampsia and withsevere pre-eclampsia. Allele T frequencies were 39.40%,50.38%respectively,P<0.05; No significant differences in allele and genotype frequencies ofC825T in the G-proteinβ3 subunit gene were found between patients withearly onset severe pre-eclampsia and the normal controls. Allele T frequencieswere 46.30%,48.93% respectively; No significant differences in allele andgenotype frequencies of C825T in the G-proteinβ3 subunit gene were foundbetween patients with late onset pre-eclampsia and the normal controls. AlleleT frequencies were 50.58%,48.93% respectively; No significant differences inallele and genotype frequencies of C825T in the G-proteinβ3 subunit genewere found between patients with early onset severe pre-eclampsia and withlate onset severe pre-eclampsia. Allele T frequencies were 46.30%,50.58%respectively; No significant differences in allele and genotype frequencies ofC825T in the G-proteinβ3 subunit gene were found between fetals in the twogroups. Allele T frequencies were 45.83% and 57.69% respectively. Conclusion: No relations were found between GNB3 C825T genegenotypes in mothers and fetals and pre-eclampsia in this study.
