Clinical Research Of MUAP Of The External Urethral Sphincter Of Patients With BPH

Objective To test the MUAP of external urethral sphincter in patients with BPH, and gain the parameter of the MUAP, then calculate the reference value. So we can find the abnormality of external urethral sphincter in patients with BPH in time, which can reduce the incidence rate of urinary incontinence in patients with BPH. Meanwhile, we can assess the patients with neuropathy, such as parkinsonism, diabetes mellitus, which guide our treatment preferably for patients.Materials and methods The Duet multip urodynamics apparatus was used to measure the EMG of external urethral sphincter. A concentric needle electrode was placed into the external urethral sphincter to record the sphincter EMG, collecte large sample in urodynamics room.Results We can record the standard wave form easily, the classic MUAP waveform of external urethral sphincter are often biphasic or triphasic waveform, smooth and have similar shape to each other, besides, they should be : (1) stable baseline (2) the start point and end point can be defined clearly( named T1, T2 ). In which ,there are 80 patients with BPH, their ages range from 47 to 89, the mean is 69. We record the duration and amplitude of each MUAP, then analyzed the data by SPSS13. The output is : the duration is 2.8—12.93ms, the mean is 7.36ms, the amplitude is 55—607μV, the mean is 237μV.Conclusions We have acquired stable MUAP waveform of external urethral sphincter and the parameter of it by using the Dute multip urpdynamic appratus. we also find that the duration is more stable , which is the important index we observe often , but the amp—litude is unstable . Then the reference value are coming out. When we compare some special patients'results to the reference value, we may find the potential neuromuscular pathological changes, then offer the crroect and valid diagnosis and treatment.
