| Objective:To observe the expression of hypoxia-inducible factor-1αin oral squamous cell carcinoma and the distribution of microvessel, then investigate the role of HIF-1αin the development and progression of it and explore the relationship between HIF-1αand angiogenesis, so as to provide theoretic foundation for prevention, clinic diagnosis and therapy of OSCC.Method:The expression of HIF-1,CD34 in 58 cases of oral squamous cell carcinoma and 10 cases of oral normal mucosa were examined by immunohistochemistry S-P method, Statistical analyses were carried out with the SPSS11.0 software, the level of significance was set to P<0.05.Result:1.Expression of HIF-1αcould detected in oral squamous cell carcinoma, but hardly in normal oral mucosa.2.Expression of HIF-1αin OSCC has no relation with it,s size, old, sex. But the expression in cases with stageâ…¢andâ…£was significantly higher than that in stageâ… andâ…¡, and was significantly higher in the cases with cervical lymph node metastasis3.Density of microvessel in OSCC was significantly higher than that in normal tongue mucosa. Intratumoral microvascular density in OSCC was closely related with differentiation degree, clinical state, tumor size and lymph node metastasis, while have no relation with old and sex. 4.Expression of HIF-1αis significantly associated with MVD. The MVD in high-grade HIF-1αtumors was significantly higher than in HIF-1αnegative and low-grade HIF-1αtumors.Conclusion:The results indicated HIF-1αmight be one of the important factors in the angiogenesis and play an important role in the development of OSCC. The HIF-1αprotein detection can be considered as biological indicators of malignant potential in OSCC, Inhibit the activity of HIF-1αmay be a new way in prevention and treatment of OSCC. |
