| Objective: To analysis the relationship between the refraction and the ocular components(axial length, anterior chamber depth, crystal thickness, corneal power) of 450 college students with normal visual acuity of Uygur nationality in Xinjiang Medical University. Methods: In this article, 450 college students with normal visual acuity were selected and evaluated with ocular examinations , 899 eyes were enrolled. Tropicamide was applied to 899 eyes . Measurements of refraction, axial length, anterior chamber depth, crystal thickness (all by A-scan ultrasonography), the corneal curvature(by keratometry) and the direct ophthalmoscopy were be taken. The correlation between refraction and ocular components (axial length, anterior chamber depth, crystal thickness, corneal curvature) were analysed by statistical methods. Results: Of these 899 normal visual acuity ,49.94% were hyperopic(+0.75DS~+2.50DS), 49.49% were emmetropia (0~<+0.75DS),and 1.69% were myopia (-0.50DS~-1.25DS). Axial length and anterior chamber depth showed significant effects of myopia, emmetropia and hyperopic. There was no significant difference in the ocular components between right eyes and left eyes(P>0.05). Boys had longer axial length, deeper anterior chamber depth and less flatter corneas than girls(P<0.05). There were no significant differences in crystal thickness between girls and boys. Conclusion: There were myopia, emmetropia and hyperopic in 899 normal visual acuity. Boys had longer axial length, deeper anterior chamber depth and less flatter corneas than girls. |
