| Objective:To study the distribution and clinical pathology features of Hodgkin's lymphoma(HL)and investigate the correlation with Epstein-Barr virus in Xinjiang Autonomous Region. Methods:The 108 paraffin-embedded HL samples and their clinical data were collected from the department of pathology of the People's Hospital of Xinjiang Autonomous Region.108 cases of HL were diagnosed 105 cases of HL,2 cases of non-hodgkin's lymphoma and 1 case of necrotizing lympheadenitis. Immunohistochemistry was used to detect LMP1,CD30,CD15,CD20,CD45RO in 84 cases.105 cases of HL were further subtyped according to World Health Organization Classification of Tumours:pathology and geneties of tomurs of haematopoietic and lymphoid tissues(2001).Results:105 cases of HL all were Classic HL including 29 cases of Nodular sclerosis HL,56 cases of Mixed cellularity HL,9 cases of Lymphocyte rich classic HL, 11 cases of Lymphocyte depleted HL.105 cases of HL aged from 3 years to 78 years (mean 29.4 years),the ratio of male to female was 2.75:1.Hodgkin's lymphoma displayed an intriguing variation distribution with age. There was striking bimodality in distribution with peaks. The first peak occurred in children(<10 years),the second peak occurred in 20 years, after which the cases gradually declined. There was no statistic difference among different nationalities. The immunohistochemistry of 84 cases of HL showed that R-S cell's positive rate of CD30,CD15 were 91.7%,66.7%,respectively,and the difference of CD30,CD15 were significant(Fisher's Exact Test P=0.000).The positive rate of CD20 were 9.5%,CD45RO of R-S cell all were negative. The positive rate of LMP1 was 58.3%,which was highest in childhood(<10)and older adult(>60), and was higher for males. There were no significant differences for the positive rate of LMP1 among different nationalities.Conclusions:(1)HL of Xinjiang was associated with EBV;(2)Most of HL were mixed cellularity, which positive of rate of EBV was higher than nodular sclerosis;(3) HL of Xinjiang was most occurred in children and young people, but the positive rate of EBV was highest in childhood and older adult;(4)The incidence of HL and the positive of rate of EBV was higher in male than in female;(5)The incidence of HL and the positive of rate of EBV was not different among nationalities. |
