[Study Background and Objective ] According to the 'Disaster victim identification guide' made by International Criminal Police Organization, all victim's data which can be application to compare is important. For those victims whose before death CT films can be collected, it is an important method to compare their before and after death CT films. In the past, there were a lot of study on head X-ray films to identification, but there is magnification on X-ray films, so the result accuracy isn't high. However it is precise to measure on CT films, and obtain accurate result, so it is a good method for identification by comparing CT films. This study is to explore identification method using head CT films for forensic practice by measuring on head CT films (including front sinus, antrum ethmoidales and sphenoidal sinus).[Method] Measure every index designed in this study on head CT films which were collected according including criterion. Use binary logistic regression to assess sex by applied indexes. It is to compute the indexes difference value of the same examiner between different head CT examinations and the indexes difference value on head CT film between different examiners, then through binary regression analysising the indexes difference value of the same and different examiners to found equations for identification on head CT film.[Results] (1) Applying the index of ansa capitis width to determine sex, its correct rate is high, reach 87%, and another indexes correct rate isn't high. When integrated using the indexes of ansa capitis width, sinus sphenoidalis length, anterior clinoid process width, intracal width of anterior clinoid process and cribellum length to determine sex, its correct rate is more than 90%. (2) Established two sex determination equations. (3) Applying the index of frontal sinus width to identify, its correct rate is the highest, reach 93.5%, and another indexes, such as ansa capitis width, intracal width of anterior clinoid process, sigmoid sinus width, sinus sphenoidalis width and eye frame width, their identification correct rate is more than 80% and has practical value. (4) Established forty-six equations of identification on head CT films.[Conclusion] (1) It is available to determine sex using head CT films. And there were established two sex determination equations in this study. (2) It is effective to identify by head CT films. And there were established forty-six identification equations in this study.
