| Objective:To evaluate the ileal orthotopic neobladder and the modified mainz pouchâ…¡after total cystectomy.Methods:The ileal orthotopic neobladder and the modified mainz pouchâ…¡were undertaken after total cystectomy for 64 cases.continence and catheterization,volume and pressure of the reservoirs,image and hydroelectrolyte condition were investigated.Results:49 cases with ileal orthotopic neobladder had a volume of 300-460ml and intrareservoir pressure of 10-17cmH2O.0 being incontinent at daytime and 1 at night whereas all the others were continent;15 cases with modified mainz pouchâ…¡had a volume of 310-500ml and intrareservoir pressure of 10-18cmH2O.All cases were continent.Conclusion:The ileal orthotopic neobladder and the modified mainz pouchâ…¡can achieve statisfactory clinical results.The ileal orthotopic neobladder has higher quality of life,thus is a preferred procedure. |
