Object: To learn the routine vaginal secretion culture results of gynecologic in-patients in tumor hospitals and their resistance to antibiotics. Method: Analyzing on the routine vaginal secretion cultures of 521 gynecologic in-patients who have been at the Xinjiang Tumor Hospital from September, 2005 to December, 2007 and testing drug sensitivity to all positive specimens. Results: The detection rate of pathogenic bacteria of gynecologic in-patients was 72.94%, and most of them were Gram-negative bacilli that weighted at 54.96%. The highest detection rate of pathogenic bacteria was Escherichia coli, which was 23.16%. To traditional antibiotics like ampicillin, piperacillin, oxacillin and benzylpenicillin, the resistant rate of vagina bacteria to SMZ/TMP was as high as 67% to 100%, but the vagina bacteria was still highly sensitive to the new antibiotics such as teicoplanin, linezoid, quinupristin and dulfopristin. Conclusion: The detection rate of pathogenic bacteria of gynecologic in-patients in tumor hospitals was higher than that in other general hospitals. Moreover, the numbers of bacteria strain were large and the situation was complex. The detection rate of Gram-negative bacilli was the highest and still on the rise, which was consistent with the development of domestic bacteria spectrum. Meanwhile, the rising of fungal infection rate was deserved more attention. The increasing resistant rate of the vaginal bacteria to common antibiotics, the decreasing sensitive to them and the popping up of drug tolerance issue were related with the defects in the administration of antibiotics. Therefore, it is necessary to have drug sensitive tests on all positive specimens before surgery. For the large surgery of malignant tumor, the antibiotics should be prescribed based on the results of sensitivity test of bacterial strain.
