Objective: To explore the expression hemorrhagic of inducible nitric oxide synthase(iNOS) and endothelin (ET-1) in the small intestinal mucosa in hypovolemic shocked rats and The effect of rhubarb on them. Methods: thirty-six male SD rats were randomly divided into three groups Control group,model group and rhubarb group. Copy hemorrhagic shock and resuscitation animal model of rhubarb in the preoperative stomach injection Each group respectively intestinal tissue from animals in each group was observed small intestinal pathology changes, Immunohistochemical detection method intestinal tissues induced by iNOS and ET-1 expression, And use of medical HPIAS-1000 Color Image Analysis System for image analysis, determination of iNOS and ET-1, the average optical density value. Results: Rhubarb treatment group can significantly reduce ischemia- reperfusion small intestine caused by the pathological damage (P<0.05); model group intestines mucous,membrane damage is heaviest, the lightest control group; Chiu's Scoring Model largest group, followed by rhubarb group,the control group minimum (P<0.01). Each group can see expression of nitric oxide synthase and endothelin .Model group iNOS expression was significantly enhanced,OD expression was significantly higher than the other two groups (P<0.05); Rhubarb group than the control group increased trend,However,the expression of OD between the two groups were not significantly different. Rhubarb model group and the ET expression OD score was higher (P<0.05), compared with the model group,rhubarb groupof intestinal ET-1 OD value has decreased,but there was no significant difference. Conclusions: Rhubarb can inhibit low bloody shock and reperfusion of the small intestinal mucosa iNOS expression organizations play the role of intestinal mucosal protection.
