| Objection: To study on the relationship and mechanism between the solar term of acute myocardial infarct ion (AMI) onset and its syndrome type in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Methods: Recording the age, sex, the solar term of AMI onset and the syndrome type in TCM about the patients with AMI hospitalized in Foshan Hospital of TCM from February 2003 to February 2008. Calculating the constituent ratio of each syndrome type and observe whether each syndrome type has peak solar terms of AMI onset by circular statistical analysis. Results: It was observed that the number of sthenia syndrome cases was the most during February 4, 2003 (Beginning of Spring) to February 3, 2008 in Foshan. The incidence rate of each syndrome type was: turbid sputum obstruction > qi stagnancy and blood stasis > deficiency of yang qi > deficiency of yin blood. The rhythmicity of the solar terms of AMI onset was found that the peak in all cases was Beginning of Spring(on February 8),mainly occurred in winter and spring, including Light Snow, Heavy Snow, Winter Solstice, Lesser Cold, Greater Cold, Beginning of Spring, Rain Water, Awakening from Hibernation, Spring Equinox, Fresh Green; as the peak of qi stagnancy and blood stasis onset was a period of Winter Solstice and Lesser Cold (on January 1), mainly occurred in winter; and the turbid sputum obstruction' s was Spring Equinox(on March 25), mainly in Spring, but all peaks gently; besides, there was no significant difference in the solar term of deficiency of yang qi and deficiency of yin-blood onset. Conclusion: The major syndrome types of AMI are turbid sputum obstruction and qi stagnancy and blood stasis in Foshan. There is evident rhythmicity and periodicity of the solar terms of AMI onset. AMI mainly occurs in winter and spring, and qi stagnancy and blood stasis mainly in winter, turbid sputum obstruction mainly in spring, which indicating that the main treatment for AMI is to eliminate turbid sputum, activate blood to resolve stasis and promote blood circulation to relieve pain; also the method of activating blood to resolve stasis is frequently contemplated in winter, and the method of eliminating turbid sputum is mainly applied in spring. It is very helpful to improve ability and efficiency of TCM differential diagnosis of AMI clinically, if basing on TCM theory of correspondence between man and nature, complying with wane and wax as well as the variation of yin-yang, according to the features of AMI onset rhythm, combining with the results of modern researches, and emphasizing abidance by triple pathogens. Meanwhile, it is valuable to carry forward and develop the method that applying the theory of chronomedicine in TCM to analyze and study the rule and the internal mechanism of onset time. |
