The Effect Of Liuwei Dihuang Decoction On The Chondrocyte Apoptosis And Proliferation Of Experiment Rabbit Osteoarthritis

Objective:To investigate the effect of Liuwei Dihuang Decoction on the chondrocyte apoptosis and proliferation of experiment rabbit osteoarthritis.Method:Twenty experimental osteoarthritis New Zealand adult rabbits which established by Hulth method,were randomly divided into 2 groups(2 rabbits/ per group):blank group intragastric administration by physiologic saline, experimental group by Liuwei Dihuang Decoction.After 4,8,12,24 weeks, arthrosis cartilaginous tissue HE coloration,the NO contents of serum were examined by nitric acid reductase,the changes of morphology of articular cartilage were observed by light microscopy and transmission electron microscopy and examined by TUNEL for apoptosis.Results:The NO activity of blank group is higher than the experimental group in any stage(8weeks,P＜0.05;12,24weeks,P＜0.01).Apoptosis cell index and cell proliferation index of Liuwei Dihuang Decoction group had significant difference(P＜0.05,0.01).Whole integral of arthrodial cartilage pathological change of experimental group,both cartilage cells pathological change integral and cartilage surface layer pathological change integral are distinct less than blank group(P＜0.05);Chondrocyte Apoptotic index of experimental group and blank group Chondrocyte Apoptotic index had significant difference.(P＜0.05),it was significant correlation in the NO contents of serum。Conclusion:Liuwei Dihuang Decoction group could decrease the NO in serum of experimental osteoarthritis in rabbits,decrease the apoptosis of chondrocytes,increase chondrocytes proliferation,and maybe it's the mechanism of action.
