Qantizational Observation On Acupuncture And Point-injection Treatment Of Baihui Acupoint For Post Cerebral Infarction Depression

Objective: To observe the effect of the treatment which incorporate with acupucture Baihui and point injection therapy with the injection of Herba Erigerontis for post Cerebral Infarction depression.Methods: The specific research chooses 90 PCID patients hospitalized in neurological hospital inpatient department of our hospital, who were divided by the way of single-blind random number table into three groups: amitriptyline group, acupuncture group, acupuncture and point injection group. Each group has 30 cases observed for six weeks. The three groups of patients were treated differently with amitriptyline, Baihui acupuncture and the treatment which incorporate with acupucture Baihui and point-injection therapy with the injection of Herba Erigerontis.All the 90 patients were treated with the therapy for cerebral infarction. All the 90 patients were evaluated according to the following items before and 2, 4, 6 weeks after treatment: Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD), Zung's self-rating depression scale (SDS), Mini-Mental state Examination (MMSE), the Barthel Index (BI) score of Activity of Daily Living Scale (ADL), Scandinavian Stroke Scale (1995) (SSS). HAMD is mainly used. each patient should be recorded every venenosus adverse reaction to the treatment .Results: 1. After the six-weekend treatment all the cases' s mental state were improved significantly, and the HAMD scores decreased than that before the treatment , the differences have statistical significance (p <0.05); the scores of the amitriptyline group and the scores of acupuncture and point-injection group decreased more significantly than that of the acupuncture group , the changes have statistical significance (p <0. 01); but the scores of the two groups before and after treatment compared by the statistical analysis was not significant (p> 0. 05). 2. The integration of HAMD four factors of the three groups of patients decreased in varying degrees , the decrease has statistical significance .Compared by the statistical analysis , the improvement Of four factors of these three groups before and after treatment has significant difference. The amitriptyline group and acupuncture and point injection group have more obvious amelioration than acupuncture group. It has a significant statistical significance. But the difference was not significant between the two drug treatment group. 3. The SDS scores of the three groups of patients decreased after treatment, with a significant statistical significance internal and also between the groups. The amitriptyline group and acupuncture and point injection group have more obvious amelioration than acupuncture group. It has a significant statistical significance. But the difference was not significant between the two drug treatment group.4. The MMSE scores and the BI scores of the three groups of patients after the treatment increased in differently degrees which has a significant statistical significance internal the three groups . But the scores compared between the three groups before and after treatment had no statistical significance. 5. The SSS scores of the three groups of patients decreased after treatment, with a significant statistical significance internal groups. It hint that each method has a certain degree of improvement in neurologic impairment degree .Compared by the statistical analysis the SSS scores after the six-weeks treatment between the three groups has a significant significance. The amitriptyline group and acupuncture and point injection group have more obvious amelioration than acupuncture group. But the changes between the two groups were non-specific. 6. After the 6-weeks treatment the incidence of side effects of the three groups of patients is as follows: the acupuncture and point-injection group was significantly less than amitriptyline group and the acupuncture group, the outcome had significant statistical significance .Conclusion: the treatment which incorporate with acupuncture Baihui and point injection therapy with the injection of Herba Erigerontis , the therapy which use amitriptyline for peroral administration and the acupuncture treatment on Baihui acupoint can all effectively improved the depressive symptoms of PCID. The method of acupuncture and point-injection and the method of amitriptyline effect equivalently, all better than acupuncture simply. The three treatment can effectively improve the PCID conscious depressive symptoms, among the three treatments acupuncture and point injection treatment and the method of amitriptyline are all better than acupuncture . The three methods can effectively improve the mental state and neurological deficits of PCID patient, and improve the ability for daily living. Of the three methods, acupuncture and point-injection and amitriptyline improve the degree of neurological deficit superior to needle treatment; The effect of the three treatments on improving mental state and ability for activity daily living is equivalent and non-specific. The treatment that incorporate with acupucture Baihui and point injection therapy with the injection of Herba Erigerontis achieve the same antidepressant effect as well as amitriptyline , but less side effects, safe, economical , simple for operation, worthy of clinical application and generalization.
