| OBJECTIVE: Discusses the suggestion factor of the MG crisis.METHODS: Retrospective study of case records of 63 patients with 70 episodes of myasthenic crisis.RESULTS: 63patients experienced 70 episodes of myasthenic crisis. Female were predominance. Median age at the onset of crisis was 37.8, The crisis episodes occurred within 2 years of disease onset in 63.5% patients. 63 (90%)episodes of myasthenic crisis had bulbar symptoms. Infection was the most common precipitating factor (40%). The median duration of the crisis episode was 7 days, and median duration of mechanical ventilation was 6 days. 65% patients had high dose corticosteroid therapy. The median number of days for mechanical ventilation was4.7 days after the Plasma exchange and 4days after the intravenous immunoglobulin. 15 episodes of crisis were fatal, for a mortality rate of 21.4%.CONCLUSIONS: MG mostly have the crisis in 2 years, accompanies the ball paralysis and thymoma change and presents the crisis quickly. The infection and the medicine use do not work as for the crisis main suggestion factor.The early time trachea cannula or the prevention dispels symptoms such as bloating the tube incision to be possible to reduce the death occurrence. The blood plasma replacement and the gamma globulin vein drop note may reduce the crisis course. |
