Objective: To study the expression of hPOT1 in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma tissues and surgiacal margians and their adjacent almost normal tissues, and to evaluate the clinical significance; To study the expression of hPOT1,hTERT,P53 in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma tissues, and to evaluate the clinical significance. Methods: Immunohistochemical technique was used to investigate the expression of hPOT1 in 82 cases of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma tissues and surgiacal margians and in 51 cases of their adjacent almost normal tissues; the expression of hTERT,P53 were examined by immunohistochemieal technique in 82 cases of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma tissues. Results: The positive rates of expression of hPOT1 in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma tissues and surgiacal margians and their adjacent almost normal tissues were 78.05% (64/82),73.17%(60/82),50.98% (26/51) , respectively. The positive rates of expression of hTERT,P53 in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma tissues were 68.29%(56/82),65.85% (54/82) , respectively . The expression of hPOT1 in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma tissues had a significant correlation with its in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma adjacent almost normal tissues and hadn't correlated with its in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma surgiacal margians. The expression of hPOT1 in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma tissues was not correlated with sex ,age , tumor size , differentiation degree (P>0.05).The expression of hPOT1 had a significant correlation with depth of invasion, lymph node metastasis and TNM staging (P<0.05). The expression of hTERT,P53 in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma tissues was not correlated with sex ,age , tumor size , depth of invasion, differentiation degree (P>0.05).The expression of hTERT,P53 had a significant correlation with lymph node metastasis and TNM staging (P<0.05). The expression of hPOT1 was correlated with hTERT,P53 (P<0.05). The analysis of single factor revealed that the expression of hPOT1,hTERT,P53 was significantly related with the prognosis of patients (P<0.05).Conclusion: hPOT1 plays an important role in esophageal squamous cell carcinogenesis and development and has a significant correlation with clinicopathologic features. Examining the expression of hPOT1,hTERT,P53 may be helpful to predicte the prognosis of patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma...
