It is common knowledge that, Cerebrovascular diseases is a common and serious disease, but it seriously imperil human health. In the case of the aging of population in our country, it's the head reason of human disability, which brought the heavy burden to country, society and family. In the recent years, people explore and seek, then make some progress on drug thrombolysis and rehabilitation therapy and supporter implantation and stem cells therapy. Up till now, people couldn't cure it entirely. It's still necessary to study and know for controlling it. So the test to measure the level of calcium, magnesium and zinc in serum of a patient with acute cerebral infarction will be done. By reaching the amount changing and the relation with state of illness, we can be familiar with microelement function in attacking. We hope get a better forecasting and controlling the disease. The test includes the analysis of the level of calcium, magnesium and zinc in serum of 53 patients with acute cerebral infarction and 20 good health persons. All the patients had being in department of neurology of People Hospital in Shanxi PR. During the course of Dec. 2006 to Feb. 2007. All the diagnosis meet a cute cranial vascular disease criterion of itemize and diagnosis, and be confirmed by CT and MRI of head. All the patients and good persons didn't have the drug which contains calcium, magnesium and zinc before the test. The second day and the 15th day in hospital, the amount of calcium, magnesium and zinc in serum of the patients with acute cerebral infarction on an empty stomach would be measured in the morning. At the same time according to brain apoplexy patients clinical nerve function impairment standards of grading. The patients were divided into several types in accordance with OCSP method raise by Bamford. On the same day, the good health persons also were measured in the same way. All the data were checked each other and treated by a statistics method. Result indicated that the amount of zinc in serum of a patients with acute cerebral infarction are clearly higher than the contrast team (P value<0.05) , and the amount of zinc in serum decreased along with steady of patient's condition. We also find that the amount of zinc in serum of the severe patients of nerve function impairment are higher. The changing of the amount of zinc in serum is the continue changing after infarct on brain pathological changes. The amount of calcium and magnesium in serum of 53 patients with acute cerebral infarction variety unclearly, but the amount of magnesium in serum of the patients with total cycling acute cerebral infarction (TACI) are lower clearly. So we draw a conclusion that the amount of zinc in serum of the patients with acute cerebral infarction reflect order of illness severity to a certain degree. It's necessary for the severe patients with acute cerebral infarction to replenish magnesium.
