Due to the unique structure with hydrophobic central cavity, hydroxypropyl-β- cyclodextrins can selectively bind different guest molecules to form inclusion complexes in order to improve solubility, stability and other properties of guest molecules. Thus, hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrins have been widely used in many different fields, such as pharmaceutics, analytics, food and environment, etc.In this paper, the use ofβ-cyclodextrin and 2-hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin as host molecules was investigated. The article studied the molecular recognition behaviors and the inclusion features with five kinds of drug such as Ibuprofen.Ibuprofen and Nitrendipine have been used to investigate their molecular recognition behaviors as the drug molecules, solubilization and stabilization properties with host molecules 2-hydroxypropy-β-cyclodextrin andβ-cyclodextrin in the phosphate buffer solution at pH=7.4. Indometacin, Meloxicam and Cinnarizine have been used to investigate their molecular recognition behaviors as the drug molecules , solubilization and stabilization properties with host molecules 2-hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin andβ-cyclodextrin at different pH.Phase-solubility method was used to calculate the stability constants ,molar ratios of the inclusion complexes, times of solubility improvement and inclusion rate. The inclusion complexes ofβ-cyclodextrin with guest molecules were characterized through DSC and UV-Vis method. Meanwhile, recovery rate of drugs, dissolution rate of drugs and inclusion complexes were mensurated. The results demonstrated that 2-hydroxypropyl-β- cyclodextrin could effectively improve the stability and solubility of drug molecules in comparison withβ-cyclodextrin. The host molecules and guest molecules formed inclusion complexs with the molar ratios of 1:1. The dissolution speed and rate of inclusion complexes were obviously faster and lager than drugs themselves. In conclusion, inclusion complex can obviously enhance the absorbability rate of drugs in the body and improve the bioavailability.
