| Objective To discuss the research of indication and results of endovascular embolization for intracranial aneurysms. Methods The DSA images, interventional treatment and the results follow-up of 55 cases that were embolized with GDC (Guglielmi detachable coil) and counterchecked by DSA were analyzed in retrospect. And the results and security of endovascular embolization for intracranial aneurysms were estimated. Results All patients undergone endovascular embolization were counterchecked by DSA. In follow-up 1 case bleeding for rupture of aneurysm when embolisming stopped bleeding after successful embolization. 1 case died caused by rehaemorrhagia of intracranial aneurysms after embolization. 4 cases with cerebral embolism after emblization were cured by thrombolysis treatment. 3 cases adjusted to be managed by surgical operation because the over width of these aneurysms necks . There was not rebleeding during following up from 1 month to 7 months. Conclusion Endovascular management is one of the major methods for treating intracranial aneurysms. Proper embolism techniques and methods combined with suitable embolism material will bring satisfactory clinical results. However, complications related to embolism techniques and methods still occur with endovascular management and long-term follow-up is necessary. |
