| Objective To evaluate evidence on the clinical effectiveness of allergen specific immunotherapy for adult asthma.Methods Searching:PubMed,Embase,Cochrane library Chinese Biomedicine database and China Journal Fulltext Database et al.We handsearched the related published and unpublished data and their references.All trials about specific immunotherapy for asthma were included.The included studies were evaluated by two researchers independently.Results Ten RCTs involving 298 patients were included.The results of descriptive-analysis were listed as the following: There was a significant reduction in asthma symptoms and medication following immunotherapy .There was also consistent effect on quality of life.Conclusion The review of trial found that allergen specific immunotherapy can reduce asthma symptoms and the need for medications, improve the sensitivity of the lungs and have lower side-effects rate(such as anaphylaxis). |
