The Study On The Effect Of Serum IL-4 And Clinical Observation In Henoch-Schonlein Purpura Patients Treated By Xiaodian Soup

Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Xiaodian Soup in treating Henoch-Schonlein purpura (HSP), and the change of serum IL-4 of patients with HSP before and after treatment. And discuss the pathogenesis of HSP and functional mechanism of Xiaodian Soup on HSP.Methods: 52 cases with HSP were randomly divided into two groups: the treated group 26 and the control group 26. The treated group was given Xiaodian Soup. The control group was treated with routine prednisone. The clinical effect of the two groups was observed. And the lever of IL-4 in serum of peripheral blood was measured by Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) before and after therapy.Results: 1. The total effective rate of Xiaodian Soup was 92.0%. And the total effective rate of prednisone was 88.0%. There was no significant difference between the two groups (p>0.05) .2. As for the disappearance of skin purpura and the relief of renal damage, the curative effct of the treated group was superior to the control group(P<0.05) .3. The level of serum IL-4 of HSP patients was higher than the level of the normal control group before treatment. After treatment the expression level in two groups was obviously reduced(p<0.05).Conclusion:The total effective rate of Xiaodian Soup is approach to the prednisone control group, but Xiaodian Soup is superior to the control group in improving clinical manifestation of HSP, decreasing the recurrence ratio and abasing renal damage. The results indicate that Xiaodian Soup is effective in treating HSP. Meanwhile, the level of serum IL-4 of HSP patients was higher than the normal control group, but it could be obviously reduced after treated with Xiaodian Soup, So we can find out that Xiaodian Soup probably could improve the abnormal immune status of HSP patients, decrease the immuned damage and eviate symptoms.
