A Clinical Type And Its Clinical Signi Ficance Of Recurrent Acoustic Neurilemoma After Surgery

Objective To draw a clinical type project so as to judge the treatment effect and the prognoses of recurrent acoustic neurilemoma.Method Thirty-one cases with recurrent acoustic neurilemoma from December 1997 to December 2007 were reviewed.We drew a clinic scale project of recurrent acoustic neurilemoma according to the tumor residual part in surgery.Results Recurrent acoustic neurilemoma were divided four types.Typeâ… was internal auditory meatus recurrence type,which was caused by not total removal in internal auditory meatus.Typeâ…¡was brain stem recurrence type,which was caused by not total removal due to critically adhesive to brain stem.Typeâ…¢was cranial nerve recurrence type,which was caused by not total removal due to critically adhesive to cranial nerve.Typeâ…£was composite recurrence type,which was caused by partial removal of tumor.Clinical scale,tumor size and hydrocephalus degree were the significant factors to affect the total removal rate.Conclusions To some extent,the clinic scale project was instructive to judge the reoperation curative effect and prognosis.Clinical scale,tumors size and hydrocephalus degree before re-operation were major factors to affect the reoperation curative effect.
