Psychologic obstacle is the biggest arthrosis of human being whose dissection is complex and request very high for movement function.Some dieases such as osseous arthritis may cause the patient knee joint function degeneration at different grades, thus inhibit the patient from normal activities, some serious patients can not even move, so the disease enormously reduce patient's quality of life. The develoopment of total knee arthropasty(TKA) brings the gospel for the knee joint disease patient. For those patients with conservative treatment invalid knee joint disease, the TKA technique is one kind of security and effective approch to alleviating ache and reconstruction function.As the increasing of Chinese old people, patients with knee joint traumatic arthritis and osteoarthritis caused by wound and cronic strain are incresing year by year. TKA has become one of orthopedics convention surgeries. Therefore the success ratio of TKA and the service life of joint prosthesis has become the key point which the people pay attention to. In the TKA surgery process the accurate truncation bone quantity as well as the phantom and the truncation bone cross section's match degree are critical factors deciding the operation successful or not. Some researches indicated that Western crowd shinbone near-end truncation bone surface's anatomy characteristic is different from we Chinese, in this occasion using knee joint phantom system designed according to the westerner's dissects characteristic may probably cause mismatch of the phantom and the truncation bone surface. Therfore shinbone near-end geometry contour's survey is clinically important to enhances the shinbone near-end and the phantom match degree in TKA surgery.To investigate the morphology of knees in Chinese, and direct the design of total knee arthroplasty for Chinese population, we simulate the surgery of total knee replacement to cut the tibia, then measured and analysised some related parameters.Objective: Compare the morphology of knees in Chinese with the knee prothesis clinical used. And direct the design of total knee arthroplasty for Chinese population, and provide scientific base to total knee prosthesis product in China.Methods: Using computer tomography(CT) images to collect 120 knee CT images to construction three dimensional model of Chinese digital knees, which was cut simulate the surgery of total knee replacement (TKR). The proximal tibia was cutted 6mm below the medial tibial plateau with 7°posterior slope. The tibial mediolateral (tML) and tibial anteroposterior(tAP) were measured in the proximal tibia. The statistic analysised were performed using the Student t-test and the Paired t-test.Results: The tML and tAP in 120 Chinese knees were 72.9±4.5mm and 49.6±3.5mm, respectively.The correlation coefficient between tML and tAP was 0.82, which was stronger than the the Male (0.50) and Female (0.57) independently.Conclusions: There were significant strong correlation between ML and AP in tibia of Chinese knee.The total dependability is stronger than that of Male and Female. The morphology of Chinese people is different from the total knee prothesis clinical used in and out the country. Our research presume that the size of total knee prothesis suitable to Chinese should be tAP 43mm,45mm,48mm,50mm,53mm,55mm,tML 64mm,67mm,71mm,74mm,78mm,81mm.
