Upper urinary tract calculi is a common urological diseases, in recent years, new treatment modalities and emerging modes of operation, and there is extr- acorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL ), percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL), ureteroscopic pneumatic lithotripsy (URL), such as minimally invasive surgery and traditional open surgery. This article is selected of 551 cases of upper urinary tract calculi in patients with clinical data from China-Japan union Hospital of Jilin University Urology for treatment from January 2008 to January 2009. By analyzing the patient's treatment and post-operative complications such as clinical data, to explore the choice of operation procedures for upper urinary tract calculi .Objective By analyzing the patient's treatment and post-operative com- plications such as clinical data, to explore the choice of operation procedures for upper urinary tract calculi .Methods Retrospective analysis of 551 cases of upper urinary tract calculi in patients of with clinical data from China-Japan union Hospital of Jilin University Urology for treatment from January 2008 to January 2009, with the clinical classification, treatment modalities, stone row and the net rate of complications. Results 1, simply type the kidney stone and I-type upper and middle ureteral calculi using extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) treatm- ent,the stonefree rate was 82.4%; 2, I-type lower ureteral calculi and ureteral calculi lineâ…¡-type ureteral calculi using ureteroscopic were treated with ureteroscopic pneumatic lithotripsy, the stonefree rate was 81.0% exclusive; 3, Patients with complicated kidney stone were treated with percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL), the stonefree rate is 92.4%; 4, Patients withâ…¢-type of ureteral calculi were treated with open surgery. extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy treatment and percutaneous nephrolithotomy, ureteroscopy treatment failure were treated with open surgery, too, the stonefree rate is 100%;5, Patients with Non-functioning kidney were treated with Nephrectomy. Conclusion The microinvasive surgery to remove upper urinary tract calculi can avoid pain in patients, and decrease the difficulty of operation and perioperative complications. But the open surgery is still of great use .
